Greeting Smith Elementary Parents!
My name is Sharla Williams and I am Smith Elementary School’s Assistant Principal. This is my sixth year at Smith Elementary where we are Soaring to Excellence! I have served as an administrator for over 10 years and have been in education for 19 years. I truly enjoy helping students, parents, staff and all community stakeholders.
I am a proud product of VISD where I graduated from Stroman High School, obtained my Bachelor of Science from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, and received my Masters in Administration and Supervision from University of Houston- Victoria.
My loving family is originally from the great city of Victoria. I have one brother, Richard, who is an amazing cook and baker. I have one outgoing son, Jaden, who loves football and is keeping the tradition of attending VISD. One unique family characteristic is that my dad, Alfred, has a biological twin, Fred, and they are both married to sisters, Brenda and Ollie. When you see my family, it may appear that I have several brothers or that you have seen my dad in several places at the same time, but in reality we are really a close knit family and share similar features.
I am so grateful to be able to touch the lives of so many children every day. Every child has the capability to not only learn something new every day, but live their lives in a positive way to enrich our community and society. My goal is to inspire and share my passion of learning and to keep encouraging my students to reach for the moon!
Good, Better, Best… Never let it rest…Until your good is better and your better is BEST!
I look forward to a new year of positive possibilities and opportunities to reach every student that I come in contact with. Have an Educationally Amazing School Year!
